Since Tottenham Hotspur star Harry Kane started breaking records right, left and centre, the striker has been linked with a move away from the North London outfit.
The 24-year-old ended 2017 as Europe’s leading goalscorer for club and country with a tally of 56, surpassing Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo, both of whom have won five Ballon d’Or’s apiece.
On Sunday, the England international scored his 100th Premier League goal by finding the back of the net from the penalty spot in a dramatic 2-2 draw with Liverpool at Anfield.
On Monday night, during Sky Sports’ broadcast of Monday Night Football, Everton forward Wayne Rooney was a guest on the panel.
The former Manchester United captain joined Jamie Carragher and presenter David Jones to oversee coverage of Chelsea’s Premier League match against Watford, which ended in a 4-1 loss for the Blues.
During the build up before kickoff, Rooney was asked about Kane and the direction of his career.
The 32-year-old claimed during the show that the Tottenham striker may consider leaving in the next few years if no trophies have been won.
It is safe to say that Spurs fans were not best pleased with Rooney’s input.
