Marseille chief Pablo Longoria has ruled out the possibility of signing free agent Paul Pogba this season, denying him a reunion with Mason Greenwood.

Pogba is free to play football again starting this month having served an 18-month doping ban which was reduced on appeal. The midfielder is currently a free agent after he mutually terminated his contract with Juventus last November. The Frenchman has been linked with a move to several clubs in the past few months and was even tipped to reunite with ex-Manchester United team-mate Greenwood at Marseille. But club president Longoria has ruled out that possibility.

Speaking to , the Marseille chief said, "We decided not to sign Paul Pogba as a free agent this season. We had conversations… but then we thought that his recovery time could upset the balance of the squad."

The World Cup-winning France star is currently training in Miami as he is gearing up to make a comeback to professional football. Other than Marseille, he has also been linked with moves to MLS and the Saudi Pro League. Former Red Devils star Louis Saha has also urged the Premier League giants to bring the midfielder for a third stint at Old Trafford.
WHAT NEXT FOR PAUL POGBA?
The 32-year-old has not played since September 2023, when he came on as a substitute in a Serie A clash for Juventus against Empoli before his ban was confirmed. He hopes to get back on the pitch soon by finding a new team.
