Versatile Atletico Madrid star Thomas Partey impressed in his side’s 1-0 win against Arsenal in the second leg of their Europa League semi-final tie on Thursday night, and Manchester United fans have urged their club to sign the £13.5m-rated man this summer.
Naturally a defensive midfielder, the 24-year-old has filled in at right-back on occasions and that is exactly what he did against the Gunners, where he was tasked with marking Mesut Ozil.
While the Ghana international struggled with his decision-making at times, he certainly shackled the Germany international who made little impact on the contest, and his performance didn’t go unnoticed by the Old Trafford faithful.
Man United supporters, who also identified Alessandro Florenzi as a potential right-back replacement for Antonio Valencia on Twitter this week, were quick to have their say on his display via social media, and while one said “Thomas Partey should be our next RB”, another said “Thomas Partey would be perfect at United”.
