Dembele's move from Borussia Dortmund to Barcelona in 2017 put huge pressure on the Frenchman's shoulders and he never really lived up to the hype in Catalunya. Even after joining Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, he struggled to shine next to Kylian Mbappe. But since the latter's departure to Real Madrid, Dembele has become the main man under Luis Enrique and the head coach has earned the praise of Gasset.

Speaking to the press on Friday, he said: "In Europe, teams can be worried because he's a machine. The coach is having great conversations. Incredible, Dembele at number 9 is the idea of the century, and it all comes down to the coach. Paris seems unbeatable today; they're above everyone else."
THE BIGGER PICTURE
Dembele has bagged 32 goals in 39 appearances across all competitions this season since being deployed as a striker rather than on the wing. Luis Enrique's tactical tweaks has put the Parisians on the verge of claiming the Ligue 1 title earlier than any other team in history, and they also have a great shot at claiming their first Champions League crown.
