After the Disciplinary Commission suspended the Akron Stadium for one match with no public attendance due to the incidents in the Clásico – a Chivas fan threw a bottle at an América player – the Rojiblancos requested to Liga MX to change the venue for this Saturday's match against Cruz Azul to the Estadio Jalisco.
This request was granted, so the match will be played with fans in attendance.
In a statement: "The Liga MX granted this request to Club Deportivo Guadalajara, with the condition of implementing additional operational requirements and security measures."

Liga MX had previously denied Chivas' appeal to avoid the Akron Stadium being punished with a match ban without fans in the stands. Just one day after the league's denial, El Rebaño submitted another request, asking for this Saturday's match against Cruz Azul to be moved to the venue that had been their home from its inauguration in 1960 until 2010, when they moved to their new stadium.
The most recent time El Rebaño played as the home team at Estadio Jalisco was in the Apertura 2023, due to a concert by The Weeknd at Akron. However, there was no celebration, as the result was not as hoped, with Chivas losing 4-0 to Tigres.

"Article 13 of the Sanctions Regulations of the Mexican Football Federation (FMF) allows that, in the case of a Stadium Ban, such as the 'AKRON,' the Club may either play behind closed doors or designate a different Stadium or Venue. The FMF Sanctions Regulations apply (since this regulation was used as the basis by the Disciplinary Commission) so that the sanctioned team can play with fans in attendance, as the sanction imposed by the Disciplinary Commission was on the Akron Stadium and not on the venue."
AFPDID YOU KNOW?
Since their move to Akron Stadium in 2010, Chivas has had to return to play as the home team at Estadio Jalisco for various reasons. The record has not been favorable for El Rebaño, as in the seven matches they've played there, they have lost four and won three.
Visiting Atlas has been more positive for the Rojiblancos. Since the 2010-11 season, playing at the red-and-black team's stadium, they have seven victories, seven draws, and only four losses.
